What We Learned at Squarespace Circle Day
Post-event, here are the words of advice — courtesy of fellow presenters — that we’re still thinking about.
After a full day of workshops, panels and networking events with fellow Squarespace experts, our heads were spinning with new ideas and inspiration for everything from design to marketing to running a small business. Here are our biggest takeaways from the event.
“Repetition creates progress.”

— Benjamin Manley, founder, Knapsack Creative Co.
From Ben’s talk at Circle Day. Ben’s company Knapsack Creative Co. is a web design organization who have perfected the live design process, which allows them to build websites in anywhere from one day to four days, depending on your package.
“Start from a place of empathy with your clients — you aren’t the hero, they are.”
— Nick Ippolito, founder, SquareKicker
From Nick’s talk entitled “Make Empathy the Superpower of your Business.” Nick’s company SquareKicker developed a simple design and animation extension that takes Squarespace sites to the next level.
“Accept that the best content strategy is one you’re willing to show up for consistently.”
“Accept your own branding and design guidelines and be willing to adjust your language when necessary.”
“Be willing to exist within the context that best serves your customer/customer base.”
“Ignore vanity metrics and be willing to establish your own unique metrics of success.”
