So, What is Three PR?
Getting to know the client behind our first case study
In 2017, after almost 15 years in public relations, Rachel Gillman Rischall had a career epiphany. “I had worked for multiple agencies and in-house for a hospitality group,” she says. “I had learned so much and honed my skills. But the only thing I hadn’t done was be my own boss.”
She took the leap and started her own company, Three PR. And what was initially a short-term freelance effort quickly morphed into a full-time endeavor. Now, Three PR is focused on partnering with innovative, better-for-you food brands, sharing their message of not only delicious products, but a greater commitment to the world around them.
“The pandemic uprooted events and the hospitality realm, which had been a primary focus of my work. It turned into a reset for the kind of businesses I wanted to support. My clients are companies I feel drawn to, that I use in my home, that I feed my kids and that I happily put my name behind.”
Her clients include Siete Foods and Farmer’s Fridge, two national brands that are changing the game in their respective fields. “Siete Foods’ motto is family first, family second, business third,” she says. “They lead with such heart in everything they do, and their food is absolutely delicious.” Farmer’s Fridge makes fresh meals more accessible through high-tech vending machines in airports, municipal buildings and other high-traffic places. “I was a fan of Farmer’s Fridge years before I worked for them,” she says. “They’re revolutionizing access to healthy food, and I’m inspired to be part of that journey.”
As a publicist, Rachel’s specialty is media relations. But that umbrella term encompasses a wide skill set that goes well beyond pitching: strategic thinking, networking, creative marketing support, thoughtful introductions and other ways to prop up and help build a brand. “My superpower is my full commitment,” Rachel says. “I don’t have a team; I’m not offloading work to a junior publicist. I’m in touch with clients daily, and I bring the entirety of who I am — my passion, enthusiasm, and network — to support my clients. I’m a fully invested member of their team.”
While she continues to partner with brands she believes in, helping to tell meaningful stories on a national stage, she’s aware of the impact she’s making at home — not only in the healthful products her family enjoys, but in the example she sets for her 8-year-old twins. “I love showing my daughters what it looks like to run your own business, care deeply about your work and carve your own professional path,” she says.
