Circle Day Roundup
Maybe you didn’t know, but this past week was Squarespace’s Circle Day! (Okay, technically it was only a day, but who doesn’t love week long celebrations, especially when they’re being held in New York?)
Our co-founders, Kelsey and Mallory both went, along with our Ops Manager Katie, and a few team members! We all love an opportunity to meet up in person, especially when you live in the digital world as much as we do!
Besides our team members, we also got to meet other Squarespace designers we’ve admired from afar for a long time - and some of them, we met again! But since we could wax poetic all we want about the people we met and the connections we made, let’s switch gears and talk about the things we learned from each other. We’re all for community > competition, and hope they are learning from us as much as we learn from them.
Mallory attended the “Recruit AI for Your Marketing Team” workshop run by Denys Kapush, where she learned about There’s An AI For That - because didn’t you know that apps are overrated now? It’s all about AI, baby.
Kelsey decided to pursue the e-commerce route and attended “Empower Your Clients with Ecommerce Essentials” run by Kristine Neil. She learned:
Flat rate shipping + free shipping over a certain amount is the best converting shipping area
Create a “Phase 2 Document” so when a client has a wild idea, say “Great! Let’s add it to Phase 2.” This way, you can make a plan at the end of engagement without losing ground on what you’re currently working on
Hot take: our designers in the chat LOVED this takeaway!
Once you launch, take a screenshot of every page
Although not everyone was able to attend in person, our virtual attendees found the presentations enjoyable either way! They were able to interact in the session and chat with their fellow community members who weren’t able to go to NY.
It’s always a pleasure to go to Circle Day, and we hope everyone that went had an equally amazing time!
See ya there next year?
