The Biggest Trends in Web Design for 2025
Being a part of developer inner circles gains us insight into what’s popping off in the web design world. Here is what the best of the best in web development are saying to look out for in the year ahead.
1
A return to nature. Bringing elements that connect the modernity of the technological world with the great outdoors. Bohemian Bee sticks out as a site our team designed with the latest Squarespace has to offer, while keeping the mission of being stewards for the land and pollinators top of mind.
2
Bold, personality driven text, instead of more minimal fonts dominating websites. If you you feel emboldened to lean into more creativity, using fonts as a place to play with identity design is fantastic when photos just aren’t enough. Playing with font styles and typography is one of our favorite design moments - for example with The Youngs Photo and Film and AiLi (Artificial Intelligence and Limitless Imagination).
3
More playful, fun design. The Squarespace team calls them “Visual Smiles” because they’re intended to be just that - design that evoked happiness. We love the cheeky fun on author and producer Jenny Han's website and the playful animations on San Francisco based florist Floralounge (built on Shopify).
4
Color, Textures and Patterns that trip you out. Take these elements a step further by incorporating more 3D elements into our 2D digital world. For us, that would be Framework’s stunning visuals on their homepage that bring to life their hot sauna and cold plunge studio online.
5
Illustrations. Bring websites to life with personalized illustrations to help bring your brand story alive. One of our favorite examples is the website design for Goldilocks - CPG brand and growth strategy consultants. They brought to us illustrations of themselves to showcase in lieu of traditional headshots. Also, illustrations bring the iconic menu from national hamburger hotspot Small Cheval to life on their site.
