OK, so Squarespace is moving its platform from 7.0 to 7.1. Yes, we know it’s a hassle. We know it’s confusing. We know that after the last couple of years this is the last thing you need. We get it.

Squarespace 7.1 is new, it’s exciting, and it’s where the Squarespace team is putting their energy and innovation. From here on out, this is where the magic happens. So while 7.1 gets more awesome and advanced, 7.0 will just be kind of… hanging out.
2. The speed
It’s faster to build and faster to edit. That means you’ll have the site of your dreams — and be able to make updates — in a quicker, more seamless, less stressful way.
3. The universal styles
Squarespace 7.1 allows you to change colors site-wide, making your site more dynamic, sustainable and consistent in just one click.
4. New movement and animation options
It’s all about the animation on Squarespace 7.1. The new version allows more opportunities to make your site pop, with both site-wide animations and block-specific animations, banner animations and new video pages.
5. Updated advanced features
We were already fans of Squarespace 7.0’s advanced features. But the 7.1 options are truly next level. Advanced e-commerce, increased member areas and dedicated video pages have been added, updated and improved.
6. Simple lists
It’s much easier to add team members or additional information without having to rearrange sections or replicate a designer-created site structure.
7. Portfolio pages
It’s easier to display your brilliance with brand new portfolio pages, which allow you to showcase your work in a gallery-style format while also linking to sub-pages.
