Onboarding: Brit Young
The tools, tricks and tiny little details that keep our project managers on point.
Name: Brittaney ‘Brit’ Young
Residence: Pensacola, Florida, though I live a nomadic lifestyle.
How did you get into project management?
I actually began my career as a paralegal. I found that in order to survive the workload, project management skills were a must.
Favorite WOTW project you’ve worked on and why?
FlowersFlowers, a floral shop in Chicago, Illinois. Joanne, the owner, was such a great client to work with. She made the process simple, clearly explained her wants, and followed along well during the process. Hazar is also an amazing developer and was so fun to work alongside.
Where do you work best?
You can usually find me spread out on my couch with music playing in the background. Every once in a while, I hit up a good coffee shop to enjoy a cup and change up my environment.
Workspace essentials?
Coffee, coffee, coffee, a comfy seat, multiple screens, and my mega notebook that is filled with all the things I need to know. And of course, my fur babies, Max [pictured below], Harley, and Lily cuddled up with me.
Can’t-live-without organizational tool?
Shift! Shift is an organizational tool for email accounts but it can do so much more. It keeps my eight different email accounts easy to access, as well as the virtual workspaces for all of my clients. I don’t go a day without using it.
Favorite part of the WOTW process?
The ease of it all. WOTW has made the entire process so streamlined and easy to follow.
Best source of creative inspiration?
My nomadic lifestyle. My husband is an active-duty Major in the United States Marine Corps, which means we move A LOT. His job has taken us from the east coast to Japan and now to Florida. We have met some of the most unique and loving people throughout our travels and at our new homesteads.
Favorite shortcut or tip of the trade?
Networking. Personal connections with other similar-minded people can help build your business more quickly than any social media tool.
What are you binge-watching?
‘The L Word.’
Favorite meal?
A good steak quesadilla.
What are you hoping for the rest of 2021?
To successfully launch my new business, Launch Llama, an all-in-one website building service. I also want to find more time to spend with my kid, Cooper.
