Squarespace acquires Tock

Our preferred CMS has bought our favorite hospitality platform. Cue the excitement.

Squarespace is built on the idea of ease. It doesn’t have to be impossible for the average person to maintain their own website. So they simplified the process, creating a platform that can be as easy or as advanced as you have time/energy/interest for.

So it only makes sense that Squarespace scooped up Tock, the hospitality platform that first simplified the restaurant reservation system, and then the takeout/delivery process for small, independent restaurants. (Plus ticketing systems for other small businesses.)

We have a soft spot in our hearts for Tock, as they’re another Chicago-based start-up with a few of our friends on the team, so we’re thrilled for them. We also champion anything that helps local restaurants thrive; in fact, a love for independent restaurants and a desire to help them succeed was one of the reasons we started WOTW in the first place.

We can’t wait to see what sort of advancements come from this move, but one thing is certain: It’s bound to make life even easier.
